The Peterborough Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Hub is based at Caverstede Nursery School.

The EYFS SEND Hub is available to offer advice and support for Nursery and Reception class staff; for PVI (Private, Voluntary & Independent) settings and childminders in the Peterborough Local Authority area.


Caverstede EYFS SEND Hub offers:

  • Open Sessions; we offer open sessions to view our outstanding Nursery School where we educate children both with and without Special Educational Needs/Disabilities. We have experienced, knowledgeable staff who, together with our carefully developed inclusive environment, meet the needs of all children.
  • Training sessions; these are delivered a focus on a range of subjects (for example Unclear Speech).
  • One to One visits; these follow a recommendation and referral from the Specialist Teaching Team or Early Years Team who will accompnay you on a visit. This is an opportunity to onserve something specifi on practice that the team have been working with you to implement.
  • Resource Lending Library; offers a wide range of resources/equipment including children's books and practitioner reference books which can be borrowed by users. The items available can be viewed via the website.
  • Websites and links; useful information can be found on a range of websites from the links provided.
  • Documents and publications; useful documents that are widely used by Early Years practitioners such as Developmental Journals.
