Sessions, funding and fees

We offer term time only spaces for children aged two, three and four years

  • Morning Session 9.00am - 12.00am
  • Afternoon Session 12.30pm - 3.30pm
  • All Day Session 9.00am - 3.00pm (2 sessions)

We also offer extended provision

  • Breakfast Club 8.00am - 9.00am
  • Add lunch to a morning or afternoon session (subject to availability) 12.00pm - 12.30pm
  • Extended day/late club 3.00pm to 4.00pm or 3.30pm to 4.00pm


Funding Available

Universal 3 and 4 year old funding

Currently, all 3 & 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours per week of government funded education/childcare during term time starting from the term after their 3rd birthday. Here at Caverstede Nursery School, this can be taken as a mix of either 5 x morning sessions, 5 x afternoon sessions, a mix of either 5 x morning or afternoon sessions, or 2 x full days plus 1 x morning or afternoon session. You may attend Caverstede Nursery School for all or just some of these funded hours.

Those eligible for additional funding through the Working Parents Funding (see below) can access further sessions. Should you not be eligible for additional funded sessions, then addtional sessions may be paid for, with session fees detailed below. Extended provision of breakfast, lunch and extended day/late club can also be paid for.

Free Childcare for Working Parents Funding

Caverstede Nursery School is registered to receive Working Parents Funding from when your child is aged 2. From September 2025 if you are eligible for working parents funding this entitles you to 30 hours funding which equates to 5 x all day sessions. You may attend Caverstede Nursery School for all or just some of these funded hours. 

Please check if you are eligible on the Government website www.gov.uk/check-eligible-free-childcare-if-youre-workingIt is worth checking all criteria under this funding as it is available for both working parents, as well as some parents not currently working; some examples being on maternity leave, or in receipt of certain benefits including Carer's Allowance.

You must have claimed for this funding, and obtained a valid 11-digit code, the term before your child wants to access this funding as follows:

  • Term starting 1st September - you must have applied and in receipt of the code by the 31st August
  • Term starting 1st January - you must have applied and in receipt of the code by the 31st December
  • Term starting 1st April - you must have applied and in receipt of the code by the 31st March

Please remember, once you have obtained the code, you must renew this every 3 months or your code will expire.

Two Year old funding 

Some eligible parents of 2-year-old children may be entitled to 15 hours childcare support, if they receive some additional forms of government support, such as Income Support, income-based Job Seekers Allowance, income related Employments Support Allowance, Tax Credits or Universal Credits (income thresholds apply) please see link for full details 15 hours funded childcare for low-income families and how to apply.

This funding is also available to other categories of children such as those "looked after" by the local authority, or have left care through Special Guardianship, Child Arrangement Order or Adoption, parents of children who receive Disability Living Allowance and children who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).


Our Fees, with effect from 1st September 2025 (for current fees request detail from our reception)

  • 2 year old (until the term after their 3rd birthday) £21.00 per session
  • 3 and 4 year old £18.00 per session
  • Breakfast Club £6.00 per session
  • Adding lunch to a morning or afternoon session £2.50
  • Extended day/Late Club £2.50 per 1/2 hour session


Other support with Childcare Costs

Tax Free Childcare You can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year). If you get Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay your provider.

You can get Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as 15 or 30 hours free childcare if you’re eligible for both.

Universal Credit for working families You can claim back up to 85% of childcare costs. However, you cannot claim for both Tax free childcare and universal credit childcare so please check eligibility first.

Working Tax Credits (childcare element) You can claim back up to 70% of your childcare costs.
