Supporting deaf and hearing impaired children in the Early Years

This course is aimed at Early Years practitioners - within PVI settings and school nursery/reception classes. It will allow you to understand the needs of deaf and hearing impaired children. It will also give you practical strategies to use in your setting.
The course will include;
  • Causes and types of hearing loss
  • Supporting the use of hearing technology such as hearing aids/cochlear implants/radio aids
  • Supporting language development and access to the curriculum offer
  • Supporting social and emotional development and fostering independence
 
This training will be led by members of the Sensory and Physical Support Team.
