DfE & Public Health England Guidance for Schools regarding Coronavirus

You will no doubt be aware of the increased media coverage of the spread of Coronavirus in recent days. The DfE and Public Health England have also issued updated guidance for schools regarding the recent news of the spread of the virus.

The full guidance issued to schools is publicly available and can be found here:  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19

Please find attached a poster copy of the summary guidance for your information. For your reassurance, can I please also quote the section of the poster ‘the chance of being in contact with the virus is currently low in the UK’, but also ask that we remain vigilant.

Please also note the guidance to prevent the spread of the virus, is that anyone who has returned from any of the specified countries in the last 14 days that they should self-isolate.  Therefore if you know anyone that has returned from the specified countries, ensure you are not in contact with them until after their 14 days of self-isolation. The current specified countries are: Wuhan City and Hubei Province (China), Iran, Daegu or Cheongdo (Republic of Korea) and North Italy (see links on the above government website for current countries/areas as these may change).
